Born in Corsica, Emilie’s early childhood was spent growing up in beautiful Iceland; her Mothers’ native land. When she was ten, the family moved to the alluring beauty of the Cotswolds.
Emilie’s background has played a big role in shaping the photographer she is today. Her entrepreneurial Father was a hairdresser to the stars during the ’60’s & ’70’s – cutting and styling hair of the likes of David Bowie, The Beatles and Twiggy. It was during her foundation degree that Emilie began to experiment with image making – favouring her Canon AE1 SLR that her Father gave her.
After graduating with a BA hons from Central Saint Martins, London, in 2003 and receiving her Masters degree from London College Of Communication in 2014, Emilie has established herself as a commercial photographer working across various genres including music, publishing and advertising. Known predominately for her portrait photography, she receives regular commissions from the BBC and independent production companies for her creative yet ‘real’ style of shooting.
Emilie loves meeting and collaborating with people from all walks of life. Her approach to making the most of a portrait is to get the subject feeling relaxed and confident in her presence – ultimately capturing a person’s moment in time.
