Tina Korhonen – also known as ‘Tina K’ – is a freelance portrait, music and editorial photographer based in London, UK.
Finnish-born Tina has always loved photography and images. She started taking pictures early on with her father’s camera, Canon AE-1. Since then she has established herself as one of the leading music photographers in the UK having worked for New Musical Express (NME) and having clients such as Gretsch, Universal and Yamaha.
Tina K’s style has been described as colourful, eye-catching and vivid. Although she loves black and white photography, her own images are mainly in colour. Tina used a lot of cross processing already in the film era, a long before mobile phone applications “rediscovered” that look.
Her passion lies in creating simply striking and thought-provoking images. She loves people and finding their best side both externally and internally. That is where her talent lies, communicating with the subject matter, combined with her creative lighting skills.
Tina’s images can be seen in as places as varied as on black metal band Cradle of Filth T-shirts, in Gretsch Guitars’ marketing and promotion, Craig David’s bedroom wall and even style magazines such as Elle and Vogue.
